Manufacturing ERP

Magizon

Backend and database work for a deployed manufacturing ERP, with a focus on access control, product data, and accountable inventory transfers.

My role

Principal backend contributor and database designer in a multidisciplinary team.

Technology

  • NestJS
  • TypeScript
  • PostgreSQL
  • Spring Boot

The challenge

The business needed operational software spanning accounting, inventory, sales, and production. Early assumptions about unrestricted employee access, ambiguous product entities, and inventory transfers without explicit responsibility had to be addressed as the system matured.

My contribution and the solution

I designed and implemented the user, role, and permission model, led discussions to clarify it, redesigned product-related entities, and implemented the inventory-transfer module. I also contributed to accounting logic and the backend-controlled navigation model.

  • Reusable permissions determine which actions and navigation a worker can access in a business context.
  • Clearer product entities and meaningful identifiers support the way workers find products.
  • Inventory transfers record movement, responsibility, and related accounting movement.

Delivery and outcome

Work was validated through tests, API checks, use-case exploration, and guided testing with future users. I reviewed changes, helped release versions, and supported the deployed system. Selected long-running flows were migrated from NestJS to Spring Boot; the full migration was not completed.

The role-and-permission model and inventory-transfer process were adopted in the deployed ERP. No quantitative business result or complete migration is claimed.
